now I know why you liked those little gift placques so much. Breve latte day here in the Bitterroot. Gray,cloudy,rainy..fall has arrived and it looks like the Great NW. Starting to build our barn, shot the budget to where ever shot budgets go, will be staying here for the holidays, sans kids, no mullah to send plane tickets..oh well, that's why we moved.
hugs to you AQ love from Griz tracker

p.s. I just noticed and read the info on the "What You Can Do" link and checked out some of the other info. Excellent site.

Wondering if you'd like/need children's books. I believe I can put together a box, if you can give more info. But, am wondering what the cost might be to send books that would fill an "apple box". Terribly expensive? Or do you have any suggestions?

Reading today's blog brought such emotion. While your tasks are long, arduous and most likely very exhausting even on the best of days, the work you are doing must be guided by Lord God each step along the way. As a young woman, and even nearing retirement--and even after reading about your ministry--I couldn't help but wish my health would permit me to do such work. As I read about the children and the older folks and all you are doing to serve them, it is evident you've been placed in what has to be difficult, yet rewarding, with needs aplenty. Reading about the young man, Titus, I had to chuckle, for I, too, had my share of "Tituses". Thirty-five years in the classroom, there were always those who needed an extra dose of encouragement, a pat on the back--and even the threat of a swat on rear "if you don't get in gear"! (all in good humor and with love...)

What are some of your greatest needs?

Praying for you, for those you serve and for those who are led to serve. God bless you and your ministry. "He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings, you will find refuge." -Psalm 91:4

A friend from southern Idaho whom you don't even know, but who cares deeply about your work,

Susanne,
I love the new format for the website and your blog. Great to see current photos posted w blog though things change so fast for you all that its still a challenge to keep up with the news. You take good care of yourselves, get the rest you need in between! And give my well wishes to Mercy ~ will continue to pray for her healing and the energy to keep fighting for better health. Hello to Elizabeth and the others, too.

Jambo Susanne,

We are moving on the 24th! We are having enough trials and roadblocks it feels like we are doing a RE deal in Africa. We probably could at thispoint! I love this blog, really beautiful day and night it sounds like. I am glad to hear you are getting some local friends and support, I know you need it.

When you get home, and if you have time, some time in August come and see us. Fly to Missoula, we will pick u up and you can have virgin sundowners and watch the sun go down over the Bitterroot Mountains from our back porch! We will be an alcohol free zone, but friendly to all of our friends. The property is jaw dropping beautiful and when all the crappola, including a probably lawsuit goes away, we shall breathe and live a healthy happy life with hopefully, many friends coming to stay and play..love to you..griz
ps Elkhorn is having another women only week in Sept. I will be too broke to attend, but, thought you might like to know...:)

Oh Susanne,

What a beautiful post. The gift of song and welcome and thanks and the beauty of Milgis..truly sounds like a magical time. You do make a difference and you are touching so many lives..

Grace and gratitude to you. I just read the latest book from the ex pat from Zimbabwe who wrote"When a Crocodile Eats the Sun" that devastating account....Your story of success and hope for those you touch, there are just no words..thank you for all you do.

Awesome Susanne, what a wonderful report for what sounds like a truly happy day for you and your makeshift tribe. My heart went out to the little
girl in her party dress, so sick, so sad she walked so far! She must have felt better after her bath and looser softer clothes and to get a motorbike ride home. She did get her own party after all. Sweet to hear...
Keep doing what you are doing sounds like Dr. Steve's visit has had some really good results and kids are feeling better and gaining weight. Really good news. As always, the stories of the cucu's and very small children really get to me. I am so glad you are able to brighten moments in their very hard lives. They will never forget...keep blogging, I love reading them.
hugs from beaverton griz....ps I love my acupuncturist..wish I had gone sooner..

Oh Susanne, what a sad blog to read. I doubt the firings will happen, military has so much power, everywhere. I am glad they di nothing to Susan but scare and humilate her, it could have been so much worse. What very sad sad news to hear of one of your top boys. Perhaps he can be a trade school candidate if he stays away from bad dawa. He may be too far gone at this point. Hard to know when to let them go. I just finished the most amazing book called "Half the Sky" it is a hard book to read, written by a couple who has worked with all kinds of NG)'s many many failures, but good news in it as well. Perhaps if you are going to be there another month or so, it would be worth your time to read, let me know the best way to send it...Lots of suggestions as to what does work and so many examples of millions thrown away on what doesn't. Biggest point in all of it, is, educate the girls, educate educate educate, it does more for bringing them and all touched by them out of poverty and misogny than anything else. You are on the right track, perhaps some of the things this couple has learned will be of help to you. Know I am sending love and wishes for peace for the rest of your stay and success to all your kids and cucu's. What can I do?
Do you need any supplies? If i send the, will you actually get the, is there a cucu or two I can help support in any way. let me know.

Cheering you on and sending encouragement...love griz
